Not every affiliate appreciated teletext...

As discussed in a section in the Archiving Teletext page, not every broadcast affiliate is alike. Unfortunately, this meant that there were some affiliates that altered their VBI; in this case, CBS's ExtraVision and NBC's NBC Teletext services were either partially passed through the VBI or completely omitted from the VBI. While you can recover some pages from a partial set of teletext lines, the complete magazine will likely not be recoverable.

Below is a list of broadcast affiliates that altered their VBI, which affected the teletext stream. Scroll the tables to view more affiliates (if more than 4 are listed).

  2. A recording from WKYT dated December 29, 1991, does contain the full teletext stream. As shown in the "Omitted" table, a recording from August 27, 1985, does not contain the full teletext stream. It is currently unknown when WKYT started passing through the full teletext stream in their VBI.
